| Why Tag Along?
Apart from the obvious safety advantage of travelling in numbers, our tours have many other advantages:
An experienced tour leader will help you through the many obstacles; We provide all necessary recovery gear should trouble strike; We provide tyre changing and repair equipment; We provide the necessary but expensive long-range communications (HF radio & Sat-phone); Our tour leaders have advanced first-aid training; We know the alternative routes and choose the most interesting that conditions allow; We look after the hassles of getting permits and booking camp sites, ferries etc; We can often obtain access to places individual travelers can't; We help you plan your re-fuelling arrangements; Our tour leader will give you an outline of local history; We can arrange additional local tours according to your needs; All meals are provided giving you more time to relax and enjoy your adventure; Many camp chores are taken care of or shared - again giving you more time; We take care of rubbish removal (except glass bottles); We look after the provisions shopping and best of all, you will meet like-minded people and be able to share your experiences. With these inclusions, you will save hundreds of dollars on the cost of recovery and tyre repair gear and hundreds of dollars a week on HF radio hire, sat-phone hire and food costs. Each day, you will save 1 - 2 hours in cooking and camp set-up time. The savings in trip planning time could well be several days. Depending on how much gear you normally pack, you should be able to run the vehicle 50 - 100 kg lighter; which can be important when the going gets tough. |
