Weekends Away and Short Tours
Every few months Global 4wd Training and Tours holds a weekend away. These 4wd tours will leave first thing Saturday morning and we will have you home by mid Sunday afternoon. We have various destinations throughout the year. These tours are exciting and adventurous and designed for the individual, couples and the family, to take you away for the weekend with guidance and knowledge of our well trained 4wd instructors. Making this a safe yet enjoyable weekend to remember. Price includes all meals, national park fees and camping fees. Weekends Away 4WD Tours are $125 per person and $ 25 for children under 12 years of age.

Join us for a visit to the tropical rainforest of northern New South Wales or to the beaches of Bribie Island or Stradbroke Island. We do all the catering and cooking so you just need camping gear and the desire to enjoy yourself while visiting some of the isolated areas within 3 hours of Brisbane.

Bush or sand training is part of the experience and you will come home with far more experience than you though that you would ever get from a weekend. There are basic requirements for your vehicle so that it is prepared for bush and beach driving so just call us to book in and find out what you need. Essentially you will require recovery hooks, front and rear, a UHF radio so we can give advice and information, camping gear and a great attitude.

Global 4wd Training & Tours pioneered these weekends away about 20+ years ago and while many travelers have followed in our footsteps, we still know the best places to visit that provide the best entertainment for your whole family. Some trips stay at original, unique hotels in the bush where all meals are catered and we get to meet the locals who are always keen to tell of their experiences.

One of our regulars has attended five outback expeditions as well as more than 20 weekends away. He and his family just keep coming back to enjoy the campfire, travel, cooking, friendship that these short trips offer. Most attendees are not hardened 4wders nor rock climbers or off road racers, they are recreational users of 4wds that are a means to getting to places of interest.

These short tours always offer facilities such as showers and toilets at night and many allow comfort stops with facilities during the day. We specially cater for training women drivers to ensure that should the usual driver on an expedition become incapacitated then the wife can take over. In most cases we find that women make better drivers as they are often more prepared to follow instructions than their male counterparts.

No pressure is put on drivers on these or any other trips as drivers are advised to stop when they feel uncomfortable with an obstacle so that an instructor can come to assist. The basics of driver training is delivered on these weekend tours and will prepare drivers and their occupants to visit places where they possibly would have not dared to attempt before.
